there are a lot of other features included in dune 3s vsti, such as the ability to undo, merge, cut, copy, paste and delete tracks. you can also mix and match up to 9 tracks and also use the drum tracks. the dune 3s vsti also features three different modes, normal, demo, and a midi mode. all of the stuff that you can do with the drum tracks you can also do with the keyboard tracks. the midi mode lets you play a sequence of notes, so you can easily make a drum beat.

its best to hear dune 3 for yourself to appreciate its full potential, but the pitch-shifting effect is quite a new addition. interestingly, it works with the oscillators rather than the filters, but it does affect the filter sweeps. we would have preferred a more subtle pitch-shifting effect, but its one dune 3 has plenty of use for.

the new wavetable editor is one of the most important changes in dune 3, and its two main advantages are in flexibility and speed. it means there is no longer a need to save an entire section of the wavetable to play it back – just play a short sequence, or even a single wave, and the wavetable reappears as a state where you can edit it (even past the end of the sequence).

the swarm oscillator is one of dune 3s most exciting features, and theres no doubt the oscillator, in particular, will be a huge hit with dune users. the oscillator can provide noise or triangle waves, and even allow for a third oscillator to be triggered, effectively for a chorus effect. this can be switched between the three oscillators as you would expect, and they all take in the same lfo and wavetable editor parameters, as before. like the oscillators themselves, the wavetable editor is laggy and rather slow, so you will probably want to use a sampler plugin instead.
