When we last saw the Photoshop team at Creative Summit , the team wasn’t shy about pointing out that “lightroom” wasn’t the most precise term to describe what exists between Lightroom and Photoshop. They were right. The Photoshop and Lightroom teams announced the integration in September, but the process of integrating the two products had turned into a little more than one update.
At last week’s Creative Summit , the Photoshop team gave the public a demo of a brand new feature called “ Perfect workflow ”. This new feature is built on the Photoshop CS6 and Lightroom CS6 integration and leverages Lightroom’s “Synchronize” feature.
The Gradient tool is extremely useful for creating subtle or dramatic gradients. Create and edit gradients with the Gradient tool to create subtle or dramatic highlights or shadows. Use the Gradient tool to draw freehand strokes to create beautiful, custom gradients. You can even create custom shapes that automatically adjust to be the right size and make nice, subtle gradients. Create semitransparent images by drawing shapes over an image, then adjusting the Opacity of the shape or the entire image. Combine multiple layers when you’re working on a project to tweak or alter each layer individually. To join two images together, simply drag one image on top of the other and use the Image tool’s Rotate, Crop, and Align tools. Photoshop will rotate and align both images to create stunning collages. Working with a group of layers? You can use the Layers panel to flip around, arrange, and hide layers, and you can use the Clone Stamp tool to erase or reveal an area on a layer. By formatting your layers, you can change text or shapes’ colors, sizes, and positions.

The Photoshop CC update also features a new Action Launcher, as well as a set of actions that make it easier to use all of Photoshop’s tools. Additional new features include a new Content Aware Scale tool that provides a way to fit images to sizes within the screen or automatically fit the image to be displayed.
Other highlights of the update include a number of performance enhancements, including object editing in the JavaScript Touch module. Adobe also makes other Photoshop features available from the Web, including Smart Objects, which are highly organized document prototypes with precise measurements and other attributes, Site Collections and Smart Guides. Additionally, the availability of Creative Cloud effects, available in the desktop version for Mac and Windows, is now also available on the Web.

There are seven tools in the toolbox. They are called the selection tool, vector shape tool, lasso tool, pen tool, paint brush tool, gradient tool and eraser tool. Many of us will spend longer working on a project than we care to admit to. In fact, we will often tie up projects, only to feel frustrated at the end that we can’t give the client the finished product they were expecting. Other than the time that was spent creating that product, the time must also be accounted for. Sometimes we only have a few hours to create the page and a few lines of code to get the job done, so efficient use of our time is key. While this usually includes the time we spend drawing, in most cases, the code we write takes a lot longer than all of that. It’s easy to fall into the trap of starting early and always finding we are running out of time. If you always start your project with a 2 week deadline and then find it’s taking three or four months, you can ruin a client’s relationship because the work just isn’t done by the time they want it.
Selective color modes can reduce the appearance of color casts and ghosting by changing the values of the colors in an image. In this mode, the individual values of the colors are determined by the settings of the color palette, which may be different for each raster channel. Using color modes can be a difficult process, however, because it requires you to be familiar with color theory and understand the way that the colors interact with one another. In this way, color modes are similar to levels modes in Photoshop.
On the other hand, the special purpose features in Elements are designed to cater to the types of clients who may not have access to the paid software or the degrees of professionals who are comfortable working on a Windows PC.
