This plug-in offers Ether in a real-time processing environment (i.e. any program you have on your PC that can host VST 2.0 specification plug-ins) with some additional controls.
Spectral compositing uses short-time Fourier analysis and resynthesis to combine two
sounds according to their spectral content. The ‘spectral content’ of a sound here is considered to be the magnitude and phase of a sound in different frequency bands and
how they vary over time.
The Ether VST plugin will analyze two incoming sounds and, for each frequency band, places the magnitude and/or phase of the sound with the highest magnitude in that band into the same frequency band for the combined\output sound.
If both magnitude and phase are selected to be composited Ether works as a mixing
tool which adaptively equalises the two sounds to be combined and the effects can be
subtle. If only one of magnitude or phase are selected to be composited the effect is similar to that of a vocoder where some timbral characteristics of one sound are
imposed onto those of another sound.

The Ether Crack For Windows VST plugin offers a real-time processing environment.
The spectral information is extracted from each input signal by means of a short-time Fourier transform which computes the magnitude and phase of the spectral content at each time point. The
resulting data is analysed to determine the frequency band(s) in which the highest
magnitude has occurred (sometimes called the primary frequency band) and an output signal is created by copying the highest magnitude spectral content
into the same frequency band for the combined output signal.
The Spectral Composite
The spectral composite function adaptively equalizes the frequencies within the
primary frequency band in order to compensate for small differences in the amplitude
of the input sounds. This is achieved by modulating the output signal in the
primary frequency band with the input signal in that band. The overall result is
that the amplitude of the combined output signal is related to the amplitude of the
input signals but this relationship has some spectral information and dynamic
properties. The equalization filter is adaptive, being re-tuned each time a new
input signal is processed.
The Spectral Invert function reverses the spectral information, that is from the
output signal to the input signal.
The Spectral Roll function adds an input spectral tilt to the output. The input
spectral tilt has a scale and a time lag (an offset and a rate) that may be varied
between positive and negative. The output is the same size as the input signals.
The Spectral Lowpass function removes low frequency spectral content from the
input signal. It attenuates frequencies below a threshold and is limited by a scale
and a time lag.
The Spectral Highpass function removes high frequency spectral content from the
input signal. It attenuates frequencies above a threshold and is limited by a scale
and a time lag.
The Spectral Bandwidth function limits the bandwidth of the output signal to match
that of the input signals. The output is the same size as the input signals.
Spectral Balance controls the relative amplitudes of the input signals in the
primary frequency band. It may be used in combination with the Spectral
Equalization function.
Once the spectral content of the two input signals is processed in the primary
frequency band the signals are combined into a single signal. A possible result
is a signal with some of the properties of one of the input signals and some of the
properties of the other.

High Power Sound: The high power sound which should be composited with the other two sounds.
Input 1: One of the incoming sounds.
Input 2: The other of the incoming sounds.
Output: The combined output. The output must be a VST sound. It can be connected to any
VST plugin which accepts an output sound.

Note: The pre-emphasis filters and the mixdowns are controlled by two completely different sets of parameters.
One should be aware that there is a difference between frequency bands of an input sound and frequency bands of an output sound.

You can choose from the following parameters:

Range: The spectral range from which the analysis and the mixing will be
performed. This is a real-time processing parameter.

Phase: The phase of the sound that will be used for the mixing. If no phase is
selected the sound will be played back in a phase locked manner.

Effect: The effect that is going to be used. (Spek or Ether)

Mixture: If Ether is set to apply the "mix" effect (Spek) or if no effect is selected,
the target signal will be mixed with the source signal in the frequency band that is
specified as the highest magnitude value. If Ether is set to apply the "mix with
balance" effect (Ether) the target and source signal will be mixed with a constant
magnitude and phase adjustment so that the two signals are weighted proportionally
(equal to the magnitude in a real-time mixing). The magnitude and phase of the
mixed signals will vary according to the "mixture" value and selection of the phase.

Adjusting the mix values also controls the panning of the sound.

Free: The original signal.

Auto: The input source will be set to this value when no adjustment is selected.
