On the 13th of January 2016, at 0800 UTC, our labs were hit with a massive DDoS attack that lasted for over 48 hours. Although we’ve mentioned it in a previous blog post, the attacks were much bigger than anything we’ve seen before and were being fed from thousands of infected machines. The attack caused a temporary malfunction in our website which resulted in it generating two fake subdomains pointing to a fake website. Fortunately, we were able to identify the attackers and block their IPs before they could start any new attacks.
