Upsert not deleting data on update

i have a table to insert, then update record.
My problem is, when I update any field from record, it stays there, even if I use delete in previous query.
AFAIK, when doing an upsert, I use
MyTable.Rows.InsertOnSubmit(MyObject);
MyTable.SubmitChanges();

MyObject = BorrowedObject;

Can anyone tell me why it’s staying there?

A:

Some database drivers (MS SQL Server is likely one of them) treat transactions as undo operations.
I’m not sure if there is a clean way around that, but you can do something like
MyTable.Rows.InsertOnSubmit(MyObject);
MyObject = BorrowedObject;
MyTable.SubmitChanges();
BorrowedObject = null;

That will move the record back to the table, and then it won’t keep the old data.
