this kennedy boys book is on the lighter side of new adult, which by now, i’m sure you know means that not all of the drama will be super dark. it will be the angst, the insecurities, and the heartache, or in siobhan’s words “good vs. bad” versus “love vs. hate.” but everything will be resolved, and you will have a happily ever after.
one thing i loved about this book was it didn’t feel like a new series. it felt like a continuation of what we were already into. siobhan wrote these boy’s lives in a way that made them new and not entirely predictable. and when the water is boiling, you can’t help but get back on that hot seat and figure out what is coming next.
this book had me at the beginning! although i didn’t expect the ending for kyler to be happy, i was still interested in kyler’s side of the story. i wasn’t expecting this part of the story to go the way it did, but i was still satisfied with what i got. and then i was disappointed, but i still enjoyed the rest of the story and didn’t feel cheated.
another amazing book from siobhan. the kennedy boys are just the epitome of a family. they just make me happy, and these boys are no different. when i found out there were more books coming out about the kennedy boys, i had to listen to them all!
the kennedy boys are my new favorite family. saving brad is the perfect addition to the series. it was great to see a little more of the college/work dynamic after all of the drama and emotions. i liked how siobhan handled it in a way that didn’t feel like a sophomore slump. the only thing i did not like were the sex scenes at the beginning. they felt out of place and forced, which i didn’t understand why it was there. overall, this book made me smile and laugh, cry and feel, and even want more. i’m not saying i need more of the kennedy boys, but i definitely want more of their story.
Saving Brad (The Kennedy Boys Book 5) is a quick and dirty, romance, with a couple of twists, in a middle grade format. The couple is already in love, and the book will not drag or drag out the story in order to create drama. This is the fast-forward version of everything, but still a slow burn in order to protect the innocent.
Although I really want to pick up on most of the individual pieces of “The Kennedy Boys trilogy,” I’ll leave it to the author, Siobhan McKaige. She made this a very intimate and realistic situation that allows you to see the characters and the circumstances they live in as real people, and not a contrived look-at-me series.
Overall, my favorite Kennedy book so far has to be “ ’The Artist in His Element” . I loved the humor of how each Kennedy character had their own favorite painting to them and it made me laugh. The rest are great, too.
For me, the Kennedy family is what family should be. Perfectly imperfect, complex, loving and loving and worthy. The author who created this series also penned THE TRIPATH, THE BEST SELLING BOOK ON AMAZON, so we know what we’re getting with this series. This is the third book in the series and one of those that can be read by itself, but should be read in order. Like all the Kennedy stories, it’s overflowing with character, emotion, family, drama and humor. Siobhan McKaige is a fantastic and talented author who is a joy to read. I know I’m not alone when I say the other Kennedy books are some of my favorites.
it really is the author who is to blame for this book- he is a very good writer, and made the characters feel so real. the book was a pleasure to read, and i look forward to the next book in the series.
