and to answer your question, you should be able to convert your existing xenserver vms to vmware with no problem. if you are using vmware workstation or fusion, you can convert your vms to vmware directly from the desktop apps, or if you are using virtualcenter, you can use the migration wizard to convert a vm.
if you are using vmware server (free), you can just install vmware player on any computer and run vmware workstation or fusion on that, and it will run all of your virtual machines as if they were on the same computer.
if you are using vmware workstation (free), you can convert the virtual machine from a virtual disk to a virtual machine. then install the vmware player on the same computer and it will run the virtual machine as if it were on the same computer.
if you are using vmware fusion, you can convert the virtual machine from a virtual disk to a virtual machine. then install the vmware workstation on the same computer and it will run the virtual machine as if it were on the same computer.
there is not really a way to make your virtual machine run on multiple computers, but if you have virtual machines that you have set up in vmware workstation or fusion that you want to be able to run on different computers, you will have to convert them into virtual machines.
the way that vmware does this is by converting the virtual machine into a virtual machine, but if you don’t install vmware player on the computer, vmware workstation or fusion will say that it can’t run the virtual machine.
i’m not sure why, but when i install vmware player and try to convert a virtual machine, it tells me that i can’t convert the virtual machine because it says that the version of vmware player that i have is not supported.
