I am using JAXB to marshall/un-marshall a date like so:

When I unmarshall a date that doesn’t exist in the xml it throws an exception.
I think the exception is because the value returned from the XML is actually “Thu Nov 28 15:20:00 GMT 1970”.
Is there anyway to change the behaviour so it just sets the value of the date field as “null”?
