I know this is an old question, but I recently came across this exact problem and had to do something similar for my own music project.
It turns out that if you right click on the push’s menu bar, and choose “Edit Controls” the parameters can be adjusted. You can change the input/output and input/outputs settings as well as the routing settings.
If I recall correctly, the routing can be set to both master and output, so there’s a workaround there.
You can also manually change the channel through this interface, although I’ve never had to do it before.
