Kodos should aid any developer to effortlessly and efficiently develop regular expressions in Python.
Since Python’s implementation of regular expressions is based on the PCRE standard, Kodos should benefit developers in other programming languages that also adhere to the PCRE standard (Perl, PHP, etc…).
Here are some key features of “Kodos”:
■ Create and edit a regex pattern.
■ As you modify the text, pattern or flags the status is updated in real-time. You can change this behavior by pressing the Pause button (in which case the status update is suspended until the Pause button is selected again).
■ The Match tab displays the portion of the text string that is matched by your pattern.
■ The Group tab displays the regex groups by number and if applicable by name (eg. (?P.*) )
■ The Source code tab displays sample Python code for using your pattern in an application.
■ Use the Examine button to determine the last point that your pattern matched. This is useful for locating problems in your pattern which may not be obvious.
■ Includes a handy regex reference guide. You can insert a regex expression from the guide into your pattern by double clicking the appropriate item.
■ The Help menu includes the Python regex documentation.
■ Save your work and load it for future editing.
■ The File menu contains your recent Kodos (.kds) files.
■ The number of recent files displayed and the font can be changed to meet your needs.

Kodos is a Windows console application with a command line interface that makes it easy to use regular expressions in Python. It highlights the text that is matched by a regular expression in an application. An optional search mode displays the text of each match on a separate line and optionally a separate window (in Windows only). Kodos is a feature rich software that provides many powerful features to create regular expressions.
Kodos Tips and Tricks:
The match mode and help option’s are modal in nature. If you close the help or edit window while the application is still running, those windows will not be reopened. However, if you close the match mode window, it will remain closed until you re-open the match mode window.
There is also a command line switch that can be used to switch Kodos to a “suspended mode”. This means that the status window will close until you select the pause button.
Kodos status window will not show if you have not entered any text since the last time it was open.
You can move the status window around on screen by clicking and dragging the window. This will not move the entire status box with it, only the status window.
If you hold down the shift key when clicking the pause button, it will pause the status window while you click the pause button again.
You can also type text into the command line to enter text into the input box. This will create a new Kodos project and open a new status window.
When using Kodos from the command line, you must specify that you want the status window. If you do not specify a “status” the status window will not open.
The number of recent files can be specified as a command line switch. If you don’t specify a number, the number defaults to 5. You can also specify the number by using the “-r” command line switch.
If you use the “-h” command line switch the Help menu will open.
Kodos is not currently compatible with Python 2.7.
Kodos is a Windows only application.
Some more tips and tricks:
After entering text in the Kodos input box the first time, you must close the status window before continuing to use Kodos.
If you double click a Kodos project file it will only open the Kodos window if it has been closed. Double clicking a Kodos project file with the status window open will not open a Kodos window.
Just what i needed!

■ You can insert, update, and delete additional subpatterns as you create the pattern.
■ You can sort your patterns by position or name.
■ You can insert, update, and delete groups by renumbering them by pressing the Pause button (in which case the status update is suspended until the Pause button is selected again).
■ You can move groups by pressing Delete, and insert them to the top or bottom of a pattern by pressing Insert.
■ You can delete groups by pressing Delete again. You should do this if you need to change the location of a group.

Kodos Crack + With License Key
Kodos is a Python-based regular expression builder written in Python by Kenny B. Levine.
Kodos is designed for regular expression builders with any programming background, including programmers who don’t know any other regular expression syntax.
If you’re unfamiliar with regular expressions then Kodos is a great tool to have because you don’t have to learn a new syntax.
Kodos is also a great tool for anyone who has written regular expressions in other languages such as Python, Perl, Java or even in the Unix shell.
Features:
■ Generate a list of groups for a match (the same as Perl and Python)
■ Create subpatterns and modification flags for your regex (the same as Perl and Python)
■ Create your pattern and display it in the “Kodos Patterns” tab
■ Use the pattern as a Python string literal (same as Perl)
■ Modify your pattern as you type (same as Perl and Python)
■ Display the status bar (same as Perl and Python)
■ Export your pattern and save it into a.kds file (same as Python)
■ Do your work on the fly (same as Perl)
■ Double-click on any item in the status bar to get the syntax for the Kodos group (same as Perl and Python)
■ Use the display to see the expression at any time (same as Perl)
■ Regex reference guide included
■ Save your work and load it for future editing (same as Perl and Python)
■ Use the File menu to get a list of your Kodos files (same as Perl and Python)
■ The number of recent files displayed can be changed by a click on the number in the status bar
■ Set the font of the status bar to be any monospace font
■ Change the colors of the status bar and font-cell for your personal needs
■ Changed the default value of the pattern for when a group doesn’t match to zero (0)
■ Changed the default value of the Pattern for when a flag doesn’t match to “NA” (Use of Option Flags)
■ Moved the __repr__ method from the class to the module to be consistent with the behavior of Python’s built-in string functions (use “str(foo) to make
What’s New In?
Kodos is a freely downloadable program written in Python to create and edit regular expression patterns.
Kodos works directly with PCRE (Perl-Compatible Regular Expressions). PCRE is a free and powerful open-source replacement for Perl’s venerable regex engine. It’s included with most Linux distros and with some Unix variants (eg. FreeBSD, NetBSD, OpenBSD).
While Kodos’ primary emphasis is on creating a superb user interface, it includes (but is not limited to) all the features in PCRE and adds some good features of its own.
Follow the on-screen instructions to install Kodos.
To install Kodos the usual Python setup.py method is used.
For Windows users you’ll need to get the SDK (Software Development Kit) from
For Linux users you’ll need to obtain the pre-compiled version available from
Installation:
Windows:
1. Download and install Python from the standard Python site:
2. From the main Python window (Python > About Python) type “pydoc kodos”. You should get a list of the commands supported by the program.
3. To install Kodos type “python setup.py install”. This will compile and install Kodos into a local directory. You may need to do this once only. For future installations, you just need to type “python setup.py” to start a new compilation.
Mac/Unix:
1. Install the Python Standard Library (sudo -s python -m pip install py_compile).
2. Download and install Perl-Compatible Regular Expressions from
3. Compile the perl interpreter from the download and install the appropriate version of the Perl compiler:
a. On OSX: sudo -s perl -MCPAN -e shell
b. On UNIX: sudo -s perl -MCPAN -e shell
4. Install from the source distribution at You’ll need to have the ExtUtils/Install module installed.
Kodos can be told to use the latest PYTHON version (for newer Python versions), a
