Survivor: Fury in the Wasteland is a third-person shooter about one man’s fight for survival. Fleeing the chaos of a burning city, a lone soldier traverses the ruins of a broken world; an abandoned world living in pain and tragedy. As the sole remaining survivor, he must push himself beyond his limits to escape the wasteland.
The original storyline in Survivor: Fury in the Wasteland by Ken Marshall, Joe Wilson, Tom Snyder, Ben Morris and Mike White. The game also included the narration written by Tom Snyder.

The group had been on hiatus since they released their album “The Last Temptation” in 2004. Although the band had not officially broken up, rumors persisted that the band members were falling out and had disbanded. It was not until 2006 that The Darkness confirmed they were planning to reform and released their second album “I Am The Darkness” which reached number 3 in the charts.

However, no new official announcement has yet been made regarding the band’s third album. Instead, a previously unreleased track has been posted online to the band’s official website, along with a note by the band’s manager.

“I am pleased to announce that the Darkness are back together,” the band’s manager Dave Ball wrote. “We have finished work on a brand new album called ‘S.O.B.’ and are in the final stages of mixing it. We will be announcing our full plans for 2013 over the next few weeks.”

Ball has also added that the band will be touring in January 2013 for their third concert tour which will take place across the UK. The shows will be “full of great memories and lots of surprises”, according to the statement.

Why this comic?

I always loved the art of Wanda – A Beautiful Apocalypse, which was not only beautiful but also touching. Something about this scene of a young child walking through a burning city touched a chord inside of me and I decided to create my own version of this lovely scene, incorporating it into the pixel art of JRPG game Wanda.
